The torrential rain caused catastrophic flooding and widespread damages. The disastrous flooding in Metro Manila is similarly experienced in other dioceses in Luzon as well. Emergency Appeal for Cotobato Flood Victims

We have learned of the emergency situation being faced by our fellow Filipinos in Central Mindanao after two consecutive typhoons, Songda and Sorika, and low pressures, which caused massive flooding in 30 barangays of Cotabato City, 124 barangays of Cotabato Province, 155 Barangays in the 17 municipalities of Maguindanao and 6 barangays in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat. Almost 8,000 families have already been evacuated and placed in schools, tents, covered courts, open spaces and other structures serving as evacuation centers, but roughly 30,000 home based families remain vulnerable because of the flood.
